„Conservation of Caraorman Forest” – support for biodiversity

Information and awareness campaign for the „Caraorman Forest Conservation” Project, funded by the Large Infrastructure Operational Programme 2014-2020

The awareness campaign aimed to increase the information level of the community and the factors involved, reducing the negative impact on biodiversity, removing pressures on species, using resources sustainably and the need for sustainable development within the perimeter of the Caraorman Forest natural area – an integral part of the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve:
• organizing 2 press conferences for opening and closing the project;
• organizing an informing seminar for information multipliers;
• editing and publishing press releases in print media;
• creation and production of documentary films about:
– the necessary measures for the protection of the natural species with specific biological value;
– the biodiversity and the richness of this unique ecosystem in Europe.
• creation (concept, graphic design, and production) and distribution of materials for informing and awareness activities provided in the project: guide, DVDs with documentaries, leaflet, presentation folder, pen, roll-up banner, stickers, and information placards.
• informing 2500 representatives of the target groups in project through „door-to-door” communication and disseminating the promotional materials;
• evaluation of the impact of informing and awareness activities by questioning the target groups, at the beginning and the final of the project, by analysing how the developed activities had influence the perception and the future attitudes regarding the protection of the Carorman Forest and the environment.
